Our Values

Our Vision

Mindful Montessori is a diverse and collaborative community of educators, parents, and children committed to nurturing each child’s academic and personal growth using the Montessori Method. Serving children from 4 months to 6 years, the school fosters a peaceful, purposeful learning environment that encourages lifelong learning, responsibility, and respect. Guided by core values such as education, community, integrity, compassion, excellence, and mindfulness, Mindful Montessori empowers students to become independent, caring individuals. The school promotes high standards for both students and staff, values diversity, and continuously seeks ways to improve while supporting the holistic development of every member of its community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a happy, loving, and respectful community that wholeheartedly embraces the philosophy and methods of Dr. Maria Montessori. We strive to inspire and encourage children to live mindfully, fostering independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning. Through a thoughtfully prepared environment and nurturing guidance, we aim to cultivate responsible, creative, and compassionate individuals who contribute positively to their communities and the world. We are committed to supporting each child’s unique developmental journey — emotionally, intellectually, socially, and ethically — in a space that values peace, purpose, and respect for all life.

A Tribute to Dr. Maria Montessori

Our school's foundation is built upon the revolutionary philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, a trailblazing physician and educator. Her insights into child development transformed education, emphasizing the child's natural desire to learn. We honor her legacy by creating an environment where children can thrive, explore, and become independent thinkers.

Maria Montessori, Italy’s first female physician, revolutionized education through her observations of how children learn naturally from their environment. In 1906, she founded the first Casa dei Bambini in Rome, where she developed the Montessori method—an approach emphasizing hands-on learning, independence, and adult guidance without interference. Her belief that children teach themselves became the foundation of her work.

Though she passed away in 1952, Montessori’s legacy continues worldwide. Today, thousands of schools across the globe follow her method, fostering independence and curiosity while respecting each child’s natural learning process.

Maria Montessori said, "Education cannot be effective unless it helps a child to open himself to life."

Our Pledge

We at Mindful Montessori ELC gently and carefully open the door of the child's life by:

  • Knowing and respecting the stages of development as this is the only way we can truly respect the child and help him/her to help themselves.
  • Preparing an Environment (physically, emotionally, and physiologically) so that it best serves the changing needs of the child.
  • Serving as a link to the many materials and activities that offer true mental work that serves to nourish the soul.
  • Guiding with an attitude of love and acceptance knowing that we are there to serve the needs of the child and not our own needs.
  • Expressing to the child a natural range of emotions, so the child will be better equipped to express their own emotions.
  • Using our observations of the child to guide our work, we assist the child, so that the child can best navigate his/her own journey.
  • Trusting in the child and knowing that s/he will find his/her own way.

By doing these things, the child's personality is allowed to naturally develop and s/he can be whom nature intended and not a mask of their true self.

Maria Montessori said, "Education cannot be effective unless it helps a child to open himself to life."
